Sanger’s Reaction

This reaction was introduced by F. Sanger who used 1- fluoro-2, 4-dinitrobenzene (FNDB). The reaction is specific for the free amino group of amino acids or polypeptides resulting in the formation of DNP –derivate a yellow crystalline compound.
