My dear Jack
I bumped into your class teacher, Mr. Subba Rao, yesterday in the university campus. I was proud to hear from Mr. Rao that you stood first in the class. But I was troubled when he told me that you have almost become a bookworm. You do not participate in any kind of sporting activity. It is not good because remember the proverb, ‘All work and no play, makes jack a dull boy’. It will affect your health.

I suggest you to take part in evening games. Don’t study at the cost of your health. Play hockey or football or any other game, but do play games for an hour. It will refresh your mind and keep you physically fit. Thus, it will help you in your studies also. Study hard, but do play for a while also. Work while you work and play while you play; that is the way to be happy, healthy and gay. The saying is, ‘a healthy mind in a hearty body’.

I am sure, you will follow my advice, which also conforms with your class teacher’s and papa’s advice.

Your affectionate anna
John
