An electric furnace smelts 1000kg of tin per hour. If the furnaces takes 50kw of power from the electric supply, calculate its efficiency, given: the smelting temperature of tin 235^oC; latent heat of fusion 13.31k cal/kg; initial temperature =15^oC; specific heat = 0.056; Take J= 4,200 K/k.cal.
