An electric boiler has two-heating elements, each of 230V, 3.5kw rating, and contains 8 litres of water at 30^oC. Assuming 10 percent loss of heat from the boiler, find how long, after switching  on the heater circuit, will the water boil at the atmospheric pressure (a) if the two elements are in parallel and (b) if the two elements are in series. The supply voltage is 230 volts. Specific beat of water is 4,200 J per kg. Per ^oC.
