Let P = R[x] and let ƒ(x), g(x), h(x), k(x) ? P be such that ƒ(t) = 1, g(t) = t, h(t) = t2 and k(t) = 1 + t + t2 for all t ? R. Show that ƒ(x), g(x), h(x), k(x) re linearly dependent but any three of them are linearly independent.
