Need help picking a vacuum motor!?

I have an invention I created but need to figure out what kind of motor/fan I need. Is there a formula to determine what kind of motor I need? The fan sits inside a 4" ID tube but I need to know how much resistance it can handle without burning the motor or having some kind of blowback or pressure build up. I'm looking for an answer from someone like an engineer or someone who knows these type of formulas.
