Reynolds numbers?

1. Calculate the reynolds numbers for the flow of water through a nozzle with a radius of 0.26 cm and a garden hose with a radius of 0.86 cm (you may assume the flow rate through the hose and nozzle is 0.5 L/s and the viscosity of water is 1.005*10^-3 (n/m^2)*s

2. Suppose a walrus transfers energy by conduction through its blubber at the rate of 160 W when immersed in -1.15 C water. The walrus' internal core temperature is 37.0 C, and it has a surface area of 1.85 m^2. What is the average thickness of its blubber, in centimeters, which has the thermal conductivity of fatty tissue (0.2 J/s m*c)

3. Consider steel railroad rails of length L=10.0 m, which have a thermal coefficient of linear expansion of a= 1.20 *10^-5 C
What is an expression for the length of the expansion gap, in terms of the variables given in the problem introduction, that should be left between such rails if they experience a maximum temperature increase of delta T? How large in meters should this gap be if the maximum temperature increase is 35 degrees C?
