Need some help on AP Biology multiple choice questions?

I have to do my test correction for my AP Biology test. I'm stuck: 

Life is primarily made of proteins, yet life is so diverse. Therefore, proteins must be diverse. Protein diversity is primarily the result of: 
a. where different organisms get their amino acids from 
b. the peptide bond between 2 adjacent amino acids 
c. the R group of each amino acid can be different and bonds differently with different R groups 
d. the central carbon of an amino acid 
(I chose C, but that's wrong) 

Testosterone oxide-reductase is in the liver of alligators. It breaks down testosterone into amino acids. What would you predict would happen to testosterone levels if an individual alligator had a mutation in the enzyme? 
a. lower than normal levels of testosterone 
b. a faster rate of testosterone production 
c. elevated levels of amino acids 
d. elevated levels of testosterone 
(I chose D, but that's wrong)
