Help with 3d kinematics?

Struggling with this one way to much.

A border collie and a rottweiler, both
initially at the same location, start chasing two different objects. The border collie starts chasing a stick thrown in the ^x+^y direction, and the rottweiler starts chasing your neighbor in the -^y direction. Both dogs move at speed v. For both parts of this problem, give your results as exact expressions, not decimal approximations.

(a) What is the velocity of the rottweiler as measured by the border collie?

(b) How long does it take for the distance between the two dogs to be D?
