Uridine Nucleotide Coenzymes

Uridine nucleotide coenzymes participate in glucose metabolism. Uridine triphospahte, though analogous to ATP, can exchange the third phosphate for a glucose molecule. A sugar molecule is then transferred to other molecules with intact OH groups. Synthesis of glycosides and polysaccharides is carried out in this manner.
