Maxwell Equation in Material Media

There are four fundamental equations of electromagnetism known as Maxwell’s equations which may be written in differential form as
        ∇.D = p                                    … (1)

        ∇.B = 0                                    … (2)

        ∇ x E = - ∂B/∂t                                … (3)

    And    ∇ x H = J + ∂D/∂t                            … (4)

Here, p represents the charge density and J the current density. E, D, B and H represents the electric field intensity, electric displacement, magnetic induction and magnetic field intensity respectively, For a linear, isotropic and homogenous medium,
       
            D = εE, B = μ H and J = σ E
