An entrepreneur requires adequate amount of capital to run his business successfully. Finance required by the entrepreneur may be classified as stated below:

I .    On the Basis of the Need of Finance

On the basis of need finance, finance may be of two types:

(i)    Fixed capital
(ii)    Working Capital

II. On the Basis of Ownership

On the basis of ownership, finance may be of two types:

(i)    Ownership or owned capital
(ii)    Borrowed capital

III. On the Basis of Time Period of Requirement

(i)    Short-term capital
(ii)    Medium-term capital
(iii)    Long-term capital.
